Monitoring as an activity is usually performed by comparing something which is happening in real time compared to that which was expected or planned to happen. In the LAMP system monitoring falls largely into five areas - costs, time, income, service viability (i.e. profitability) and events. This integrated approach to monitoring promotes accuracy as key events and working patterns that influence the programme can be quickly assessed alongside budgets and targets. Events in the life of the service can be monitored in LAMP by the use of three sets of date information, known as Planned, Current forecast and Actual dates. Event date entry and monitoring allows pre-planning to take place and analysis of the actual dates allows achievements and relative performance to be measured. |
